Orioles Lasso The Bats of The Rangers & Give Skipper, Mike Hargrove 900th Win!
As the O's win 10 to 4, they make their manager (Mike Hargrove) 1 of only 54 managers in history to get 900 wins in a career! In doing this the Orioles go to only 1 game below the all important .500 mark. Rodrigo Lopez earned his 8th win of the season and gave up only 4 hits i 7 innings pitched (but, oddly they were all solo homeruns.)
Note: Remember Tony Batista (O's Third Baseman) will be in the All-Star game tommorow night for the American League!

Julio, Orioles Blow Lead In 9th Inning To The Rangers!
All was well as the O's went into the 9th inning, they had a the lead and their hard throwing and usually relianle closer was going to the mound! But, the Ranger's tough lineup had a rally in mind! They came back to score 3 runs and win the game! Jorge Blew his 5th save out of 22 opportunities. The O's lose, 7 to 6! Tonight the Orioles will be playing the Rangers again at 8:05 Eastern time, and Right Hander Sidney Ponson will be going to the mound. Good Luck O's!
*Note:
Orioles All-Star 3rd baseman, Tony Batista hit his 19th homerun of the year (a two run shot).

Driskill, O’s Cool Off Hot Angels!
O’s Win 7-2!
(Above: Travis Driskill, Orioles Dominating 30 year old Rookie)
Mr. Driskill pitched 6 innings on Thursday and only allowed two earned runs! His record now stand at 6-1, which makes a combined 20 wins for Orioles Rookie Pitchers (which is the league lead.) In the 6 innings Travis pitched he gave up 8 hits and struck out 3 hitters.
The Run Support for travis was very good as he got clutch R.B.I's from Gary Matthews Jr. (x2), Marty Cordova (x1), *Gernonimo Gil (x1), Mike Bordick (x1), and Brian Roberts (x1). Marty Cordova had been in a slump since his three homers in 3 games (in San Franciso) but, he broke out with a 3 hit game last night!
The bottom line is that the O's are only 2 games under the .500 winning percentage mark!

I would like to dedicate a part of this page to the late Mr. Daryl Kile. He was a role model for all people, he always wanted the ball no matter what! This can be used as an anology for everyday life; we should not ever back down from a challenge, no matter how big! God Bless Daryl's soul and may God be with his family.
Jay Gibbons- Orioles Left-Fielder
JAY GIBBONS!
Last night (July 2nd) Jay Gibbons the 2nd year player aquired from the Toronto Blue Jays in the 2001 Rule5 Draft set a record by having his 1st ever 2 Homerun game! Jay now has 13 Homers on the season and is expected to one day be a 30 to 40 homerun man (in a season). Jay hit his first homer in the 7th inning and than he hit number 2 in the 9th inning.
